Roles we recruit for
- Waiters, baristas and restaurant attendants
- Cooks, commis chefs and kitchen helpers
- Housekeeping and laundry attendants
- Front office, reception and guest-relations staff
- Catering and camp staff
What employers usually check
- Spoken English for guest-facing roles. Arabic or Turkish is an advantage in some countries.
- Experience in a hotel or restaurant, and for cooks a practical cooking test.
- Food-safety knowledge. Some countries require a food-handler certificate after arrival.
- A GCC-approved medical for Gulf countries.
Where these jobs are
Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Kuwait have large hotel and catering sectors. Turkey and Malaysia hire when their sectors are open, and Japan's SSW programme includes accommodation and food-service fields (see Japan SSW).
How the legal route works
- A foreign employer sends a demand letter and power of attorney to a licensed promoter, and these are attested and approved in Pakistan.
- Shortlisting, interviews and any trade or skill test the employer or destination country requires.
- A medical examination (a GCC-approved GAMCA medical for Gulf countries), then visa processing.
- Registration with the Protector of Emigrants (BEOE): contract check, government dues, and a pre-departure briefing.
- Travel. The employer completes your residence and work permit formalities after arrival.
Fees, receipts and your passport
Under Pakistan's emigration rules, a licensed Overseas Employment Promoter (OEP) may charge a worker a service charge of no more than Rs 15,000, and must give you a receipt for it. Government dues (the BEOE emigration fee, the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation welfare fund and State Life insurance) are separate. They are paid into official accounts, and the Protector of Emigrants office will show you what each one is for.
Before you pay anyone, check their licence number on the BEOE register of licensed OEPs. Our licence is OP&HRD/5245/RWP/2026. You can check it the same way.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need hotel management qualifications?
Not for most entry roles. Experience and good spoken English matter more. Supervisory roles usually need a diploma and experience.
Are tips and service charges part of the salary?
No. Only the salary and allowances written in your contract are guaranteed.
