Jobs in Qatar for Pakistani workers

Qatar recruits Pakistani workers for construction, facilities, transport, hospitality and healthcare. This is how the legal process works, step by step.

Qatar has reformed its labour rules in recent years, including a minimum wage that applies to all workers and easier job changes. Contracts must still be genuine. A real offer comes from a Qatari employer holding a work-visa approval, routed through a licensed promoter in Pakistan.

Trades in demand in Qatar

Demand varies over time. These are the kinds of roles employers in Qatar commonly recruit Pakistani workers for:

  • Construction and maintenance trades: electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, masons, carpenters
  • Heavy and light drivers, and heavy equipment operators
  • Facility management, cleaning and security staff
  • Hotel, restaurant and catering staff
  • Nurses, doctors and allied health professionals (with Qatar health-practitioner licensing)
  • Engineers and IT professionals

The legal process, step by step

  1. The Qatari employer obtains a work-visa approval and sends a demand letter, which is attested and approved in Pakistan.
  2. Interview and selection. Some employers run trade tests.
  3. Biometrics, medical examination and contract signing at the Qatar Visa Center (QVC) in Pakistan. The QVC process replaces a separate GAMCA medical for Qatar.
  4. Visa issued electronically once QVC formalities are complete.
  5. Registration with the Protector of Emigrants: contract check, government dues, and a pre-departure briefing.
  6. Travel. Your residence permit (QID) is completed after arrival.

Exact requirements change from time to time, so always check them against official sources, and against the contract the Protector of Emigrants approves.

Fees, receipts and your passport

Under Pakistan's emigration rules, a licensed Overseas Employment Promoter (OEP) may charge a worker a service charge of no more than Rs 15,000, and must give you a receipt for it. Government dues (the BEOE emigration fee, the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation welfare fund and State Life insurance) are separate. They are paid into official accounts, and the Protector of Emigrants office will show you what each one is for.

Two rules worth remembering. No agent, including us, should ask you for more than the legal service charge or for cash with no receipt. And no agent should keep your passport. It's needed only for visa stamping and protector registration, and it should come back to you.

Before you pay anyone, check their licence number on the BEOE register of licensed OEPs. Our licence is OP&HRD/5245/RWP/2026. You can check it the same way.
